Correction: Genetic Characterization of Carbapenem Resistant Acinetobacter baumannii in Tertiary care settings of Lahore, Pakistan

Following publication of this article, two issues were identified requiring correction.

First, an internal audit — conducted in response to quality concerns raised by Web of Science — identified that an inappropriate article type category had been assigned to the originally published version. The necessary correction to the article category (categorized as Short Communication) has since been carried out, and the Editorial Expression of Concern issued on 20 June 2025 has accordingly been withdrawn. The earlier published copy of this article is available on request at als.editor@als-journal.com.

Second, it was identified that one reference cited in the manuscript was unrelated to the subject matter of the article and/or the context in which it was cited. The incorrect reference has been replaced by the authors as follows:

Reference 32, cited in support of a statement on Acinetobacter having developed as a significant disease class posing ongoing hazards and problems to the global health care system:

The authors have confirmed that this reference was included in error, most likely due to a reference-management mix-up during manuscript preparation, and support the publication of a formal Corrigendum to correct this citation error.

Neither issue affects the study's methodology, results, discussion, conclusions, or overall scientific validity.
