Abstract

This corrects "The effects of vitamin D on Immunoresponsive gene 1 and Krüppel-like Factor 2 protein expression in the lung due to the cadmium poisoning." Adv. Life Sci. 2022 Dec;9(4):526–533. doi: 10.62940/als.v9i4.1503.

Following the publication of this article, an internal audit — conducted in response to quality concerns raised by Web of Science — identified  suspected plagiarism. Upon investigation, the similarity detected (23%) was determined to be attributable to commonly used scientific terminology and standard phrases appearing in the acknowledgement and competing interests sections, rather than actual plagiarism. The Editorial Expression of Concern issued on 20 June 2025 has accordingly been withdrawn. The earlier published copy of this article is available on request at als.editor@als-journal.com.

24 June 2025: Similar usage sequence of commonly used scientific terms, phrases in the 'acknowledgement' and 'competing interests' sections has been found as a major source of total verbatim similarity (23%). Therefore, it may not be considered as plagiarism. Hence, the Editorial Expression of Concern is revoked.
