Following an internal audit conducted after post-publication quality concerns were raised, the Editorial Office identified a citation mismatch in the above article. The authors have confirmed the following correction, which does not alter the experimental dataset, numerical results, tables, figures, statistical outcomes, or the principal conclusions of the study.

Citation correction

The citation [15] supporting the statement concerning microorganism growth as evidence of biodegradation was inappropriate. Based on the authors' clarification, the citation has been corrected from [15] to [17], which refers to Kuri and Roy (2019) and provides the relevant supporting source.
