Correction: Molecular Detection of Toxoplasma gondii in Local and Imported Red Meat and Meat Products in Al-Diwaniyah City Markets, Iraq
Abstract
This Correction refers to: Mahmood YJ, Almayali HM, (2025). Molecular Detection of Toxoplasma gondii in Local and Imported Red Meat and Meat Products in Al-Diwaniyah City Markets, Iraq. Advancements in Life Sciences, 12(3). https://doi.org/10.62940/als.v12i3.2036
Following an internal audit conducted after post-publication quality concerns were raised, the Editorial Office has identified citation inconsistencies in the above article. The authors have confirmed the following corrections, none of which alter the experimental dataset, numerical results, tables, figures, statistical outcomes, or the principal conclusions of the study.
Reference corrections
- Ref. [16] The citation was incorrectly used to support statements regarding the analysis of digested beef juice specimens and imported meat processing. The cited study was conducted on sheep and goats. The related text has therefore been corrected to accurately reflect the scope of the original study.
- Ref. [16] In the Discussion section, the statement describing studies in Mosul and Al-Diwaniyah has been revised by removing the incorrect citation to Ref. [16]. The corrected statement now cites only Ref. [20].
- Ref. [16] The statement referring to Asgari et al. [16] and the analysis of 100 digested beef juice specimens has been corrected. The revised text now states that Asgari et al. investigated Toxoplasma gondii infection in sheep and goats using PCR and reported a positive rate of 22%.
- Ref. [16] The statement regarding imported meat processing techniques has been revised. The incorrect attribution to Asgari et al. has been removed, and the statement is now supported by Ref. [28].
- Ref. [22] The citation was incorrectly used as evidence for parasite prevalence in poultry and stray cats. The cited study evaluated sheep in Wasit, Iraq. The citation has been reassigned to the appropriate statement regarding sheep, while the incorrect citation for poultry and stray cats has been removed.
