Abstract
This Correction refers to: Shehab ZA, Khassaf HK, Ghadhban RF (2025). Protective Efficacy of Phoenix dactylifera Pollen Aqueous Extract Against Male Rat Infertility Caused by Lead. Advancements in Life Sciences, 12(3): 498502. https://doi.org/10.62940/als.v12i3.2128
Following an internal post-publication quality review, the Editorial Office identified citation mismatches and unsupported reference associations in the above article. The authors have reviewed the identified issues and confirmed the required corrections. These corrections involve reference replacements, removal of unsupported citations, and revision of statements where necessary. The corrections do not affect the experimental dataset, numerical results, tables, figures, statistical analyses, or the principal conclusions of the study.
Reference corrections
- Ref. [6] The original citation was inappropriate for the statement concerning lead-induced oxidative stress, reactive oxygen species (ROS), and lipid peroxidation. The citation has been replaced with an appropriate reference supporting oxidative stress mechanisms associated with lead exposure.
- Ref. [7] The original citation was not suitable for the statement concerning the Nrf2 pathway. The citation has been corrected and replaced with an appropriate reference addressing the Nrf2/Keap1 antioxidant pathway.
- Ref. [8] The original citation did not appropriately support the statement concerning the effects of lead exposure on spermatogenesis. The citation has been corrected with an appropriate reference concerning lead-induced alterations in the rat seminiferous epithelium.
- Ref. [9] The citation was identified as inappropriate for the general statement concerning medicinal effects of tropical plants. The unsupported statement and its citation have been removed from the Introduction.
- Ref. [24] The citation was removed from the statement concerning the nutritional composition of date seeds. The reference has been retained in the Methods section, where it is appropriately cited for the sperm-counting methodology.
- Refs. [25, 26] The citations were removed from the statement concerning date seed composition. The statement has been revised and supported by an appropriate reference.
- Ref. [34] The citation was removed from the mechanistic discussion, and related statements were revised to avoid unsupported mechanistic claims.
- Ref. [40] The citation, which referred to Tricholepis glaberrima rather than Phoenix dactylifera, has been corrected with the appropriate reference concerning the aphrodisiac activity of Phoenix dactylifera pollen.
- Additional citation correction An additional citation inconsistency identified in the Discussion section was corrected. The study concerning Bulbine natalensis, which was incorrectly attributed to Abedi et al. [39], has been corrected to the appropriate citation of Yakubu and Afolayan [38].
Corrected references
9 references were removed. No new references were added. the change was a reduction of the reference list.
