Correction: Evaluation of the produced flavone's protective properties against oxidative stress and dyslipidemia in male rats with iron-induced hepatotoxicity
Abstract
This Correction refers to: Haddad FDA, Aldik HBM, Suhail AI. Evaluation of the produced flavone's protective properties against oxidative stress and dyslipidemia in male rats with iron-induced hepatotoxicity. Advancements in Life Sciences, 12(3), 2025. https://doi.org/10.62940/als.v12i3.2263
Following a post-publication editorial quality review, the Editorial Office identified citation inconsistencies in the above article. The authors reviewed the cited sources and confirmed that three references did not accurately support the claims for which they were cited. The authors have confirmed the following corrections, which involve reference replacement, citation removal, and clarification of statements. These corrections do not alter the experimental dataset, numerical results, tables, figures, statistical outcomes, or the principal conclusions of the study.
Reference corrections
- Ref. [17] The original citation was unrelated to the statement concerning hepatocyte membrane integrity and enzyme leakage. The cited article described a fungal taxonomy study and did not support the claim. The reference has been replaced with Morel et al. (1990), which directly investigates iron-induced damage in rat hepatocytes, including lipid peroxidation, enzyme leakage, and membrane injury.
- Ref. [19] The original citation concerning flavones as antioxidant compounds and their iron-chelating activity was incorrect. The cited study investigated Osp94 stress-response gene regulation under hypertonic conditions and was unrelated to flavonoid antioxidant or iron-chelating mechanisms. The reference has been replaced with Afanasev et al. (1989). An alternative supporting reference by Afanas'ev et al. (1995) was also provided by the authors.
- Ref. [12] The citation used for the phenyl-phosphate method for serum alkaline phosphatase measurement was incorrect. The original reference concerned the synthesis and antibacterial evaluation of ofloxacinchalcone conjugates and did not support the ALP assay method. The citation has therefore been removed from the relevant sentence, which has been revised to refer only to the commercial diagnostic kit instructions and the phenyl-phosphate method.
