Following a post-publication editorial quality review, the Editorial Office identified citation-numbering and reference-support issues involving Refs. [6], [7], and [17] in the above article. The authors subsequently reviewed the relevant citations and confirmed the corrections described below. These corrections do not alter the experimental dataset, numerical results, tables, figures, statistical outcomes, or the principal conclusions of the study.
Reference and citation corrections
- Refs. [6] and [7] A citation-numbering error was identified in the Discussion section. References [6] and [7] had been interchanged in two consecutive sentences. The statement concerning the protective effect of thymoquinone against cisplatin-induced ototoxicity should cite Ref. [6], whereas the statement concerning the antioxidant activity of thymoquinone should cite Ref. [7].
- Ref. [6] The previous reference was replaced with Sagit et al. (2013). The corresponding author attribution in the Introduction was revised from Abdulbaki and Al-Deeb [6] to Sagit [6] to reflect the corrected reference.
- Ref. [17] The previous reference was replaced with Zhou et al. (2022) for the statement concerning cisplatin-associated changes in renal antioxidant enzymes. The corresponding author attribution in the Discussion was revised from Kitada [17] to Zhou [17].
Text corrections
The following statements have been revised accordingly.
The sentence:
Research conducted by Abdulbaki and Al-Deeb [6] discovered that thymoquinone is the most active chemical compound found in Nigella sativa, as depicted in Figure 1.
has been corrected to:
Research conducted by Sagit [6] discovered that thymoquinone is the most active chemical compound found in Nigella sativa, as depicted in Figure 1.
In the Discussion, the sentences:
Thymoquinone, the primary active ingredient of black cumin (Nigella sativa), is a useful antioxidant that can stop ototoxicity caused by cisplatin [7]. Thymoquinone is a potent antioxidant (IC50 = 80.43 g/mL) that enhances the activity of antioxidant enzymes and eliminates reactive oxygen species, resulting in high total antioxidant status values in the blood [6].

The sentence:
A similar finding was reported by Kitada [17], who found that kidney Zn-SOD and Mn-SOD expression are decreased by cisplatin toxicity.
