Following an internal post-publication quality review, the Editorial Office identified citation-related concerns in the above article. The author was contacted and requested to review the affected citations and provide clarification or amendments where appropriate.

Following review, the author provided clarification regarding the intended methodological and contextual roles of the cited references. In addition, textual revisions were made to improve the accuracy and clarity of the receptor-preparation methodology associated with Ref. [14] and to clarify the interpretation of the RMSD statement associated with Refs. [32, 33]. These citation-related clarifications and textual revisions do not affect the computational analyses, numerical results, tables, figures, principal findings, or conclusions of the study.

Textual correction associated with Ref. [14]

  • Ref. [14] The description of the receptor-preparation procedure in the Methods section was revised for clarity and accuracy. The revised text reads:

The RACK1 protein crystal structure was obtained from the Protein Data Bank with PDB ID: 4AOW [13]. The receptor structure was prepared by removing water molecules, performing 3D protonation, and energy minimization. The MMFF94X force field with solvation parameters, a gradient value of 0.05, and the Current Geometry chiral constraint were applied during structural preparation [14].

This revised wording provides a clearer and more precise description of the computational preparation steps performed in the study.

Citation clarifications

  • Ref. [18] The author clarified that this reference was not intended to serve as the original bibliographic source establishing the ZINC database, but was cited within the broader methodological and literature context of the section.
  • Ref. [21] The author clarified that this reference was intended to provide broader contextual support concerning advances in disease and therapeutic research, including the continuing development of therapeutic interventions.
  • Ref. [22] The author clarified that this reference was cited within the broader context of scientific advances, analytical approaches, monitoring, hazard identification, and risk-related assessment in health-related research.
  • Refs. [32, 33] The author clarified that these references were cited because of their broader methodological relevance to computational approaches involving molecular docking and molecular-dynamics-related analyses, rather than to establish a universal RMSD threshold or universal RMSD validation criterion. To avoid implying that Refs. [32, 33] establish such a threshold, the relevant sentence in the Discussion section was revised for clarity.

The revised text reads:

Additionally, these compounds had low docking scores, suggesting strong binding affinity with the protein, and root-mean-square deviation (RMSD) values below 3. References [32, 33] provide broader methodological context for computational approaches involving molecular docking and molecular-dynamics-related analyses and are not intended to establish a universal RMSD validation threshold.

The cited references have otherwise been retained as published. These clarifications and textual revisions do not affect the study's computational analyses, data, results, tables, figures, principal findings, or conclusions.
