Expression of Concern: Use of Biological Agents to Control the Number of Halyomorpha halys Stål
Abstract
The Editors of Advancements in Life Sciences wish to alert readers to concerns about the article "Use of Biological Agents to Control the Number of Halyomorpha halys Stål" by Irina S. Agasyeva, Vladimir Ya. Ismailov, Maria Petrishcheva and Anton S. Nastasiy, published in Volume 11, Issue 3 (DOI: https://doi.org/10.62940/als.v11i3.3265).
During a post-publication editorial quality review, the editorial office identified ten references (Refs 2, 3, 4, 8, 17, 20, 21, 23, 25 and 30) that do not appear to support the statements for which they are cited. On verification against the cited sources, these publications were found to address unrelated subjects, including plant cover on mining dumps, strawberry cultivar introduction, disinfection in swine facilities, diamondback moth population dynamics, wastewater treatment, chickpea yield traits, tick saliva toxin effects in mice, probiotic feeding of rainbow trout, and parasites of sheep herds. The statements concerned relate to stink bug host plants and damage, its egg parasitoids, economic impact, non-chemical and essential-oil-based control methods, and the risks of chemical pesticides.
The authors were contacted by the editorial office on September 12, 2026 and were asked to provide appropriate citations, clarify any error, or justify or remove the references. No response has been received. The editorial office is continuing to look into the matter.
Readers should take these concerns into account when relying on the statements concerned. This notice will be updated when the matter has been resolved.
