Abstract

This Correction refers to: Alkharsan N, Al-Laith ZN, Al Masoodi SZ, Al-Ibrahemi N, (2025). Study on the role of gold and silver nanoparticles on antibacterial activity and lung cancer cell line (A549). Advancements in Life Sciences, 12(1). https://doi.org/10.62940/als.v12i1.2080

Following an internal audit conducted after post-publication quality concerns were raised, the Editorial Office identified reference mismatches in the above article. The authors have reviewed the identified issues and confirmed the following corrections. These corrections do not affect the experimental dataset, numerical results, tables, figures, statistical outcomes, or the principal conclusions of the study.

Reference corrections

  • Ref. [5] The reference supporting the synthesis and chemical reduction of gold nanoparticles has been replaced with a relevant review article on gold nanoparticle synthesis and functionalization. The statement is now supported by new Ref. [5] (Amina and Guo, 2020), below.
  • Ref. [12] The reference supporting bacterial quorum sensing and biofilm formation has been replaced with a relevant study addressing bacterial biofilm dynamics and quorum sensing. The statement is now supported by new Ref. [12] (Solano et al., 2014), below.
  • Ref. [26] The reference supporting silver nanoparticle-induced mitochondrial disruption and apoptosis in lung cancer cells has been replaced with a study specifically investigating silver nanoparticle-mediated apoptotic pathways in A549 lung cancer cells. The statement is now supported by new Ref. [26] (Kanipandian et al., 2019), below.
  • Ref. [27] The reference supporting the effect of silver nanoparticles on colon cancer cells has been replaced with a dedicated research article describing silver nanoparticle-induced apoptosis in human colon cancer cells. The statement is now supported by new Ref. [27] (Satapathy et al., 2013), below.
