• Ref. [7] The original reference cited for the rate of insufficient/non-diagnostic thyroid fine-needle aspiration (FNA) aspirates was not appropriate for the supporting statement. The reference has been replaced with a suitable source by Lai and Weber (2003), below.
• Ref. [8] The original reference cited for the incidence of malignancy following non-diagnostic thyroid FNA was not consistent with the statement being supported. The reference has been replaced with Anderson et al. (2014), below.
• Ref. [12] The cited reference addressed serum midkine levels and thyroid cancer in Iraqi patients; however, the listed publication venue was inconsistent with the article topic. Following author confirmation, this reference has been removed due to the identified publication mismatch.
• Ref. [15] The original reference was incorrectly positioned in the manuscript. The citation was intended to support the statement: Tumor cancer cells have more permeability to serum. The reference has been moved to support this statement and replaced with the appropriate reference by Nagy et al. (2012), below.
