Following an internal audit conducted after post-publication quality concerns were raised, the Editorial Office identified reference mismatches in the above article. The authors reviewed the identified issues and confirmed the following corrections. These corrections do not affect the experimental dataset, numerical results, tables, figures, statistical outcomes, or the principal conclusions of the study.

Reference corrections

  • Original Ref. [3] Removed from the manuscript and reference list. This citation was erroneously included within the reference cluster supporting the statement on optimal growth conditions of Klebsiella pneumoniae (pH 7.2 and 3537C). References [1] and [2] adequately support this statement; therefore, the in-text citation has been revised from [13] to [1,2]. Following removal of original Ref. [3], all subsequent references and corresponding in-text citations were renumbered accordingly.
  • Original Ref. [21] (now Ref. [20]) Replaced with Pariseau et al. (2024), as given below. The replacement reference appropriately supports the OD600-based growth-kinetics methodology used in the study. No change to the wording of the corresponding sentence was required.
  • Original Ref. [30] (now Ref. [29]) Replaced with Guisbert et al. (2008), as given below. The corresponding statement was revised to accurately reflect the scope of the replacement reference by describing RpoH (?32) as a regulator of the heat-shock response in Gram-negative bacteria rather than attributing the cited mechanism specifically to Klebsiella pneumoniae. The revised statement reads:

In Gram-negative bacteria like K. pneumoniae, RpoH (?32) is the main regulator for heat-shock responses; RpoH is activated due to high temperatures and leads to a regulation cascade that regulates the synthesis of heat-shock proteins (Hsps), whose role is to prevent protein denaturation, assist in protein folding, and repair damaged proteins due to high temperatures [29].
