Following a post-publication editorial quality review, the Editorial Office identified reference mismatches in the above article. The authors reviewed the identified citations and confirmed the following corrections. These corrections involve only the supporting references and do not affect the experimental data, results, tables, figures, statistical analyses, or the principal conclusions of the study.

Reference corrections

  • Ref. [10] The original Ref. [10] has been replaced with Ye et al. (2018), which more appropriately supports the statement regarding the role of autophagy-related gene 5 (ATG5) in autophagy and autoimmune/autoinflammatory diseases. As Ye et al. (2018) was already listed as Ref. [11] in the original article, the resulting duplicate reference was removed and the subsequent references were renumbered accordingly.
  • Original Ref. [13] The original Ref. [13] has been replaced with Wang et al. (2022), which more appropriately supports the statement regarding ATG5 gene polymorphisms and their association with autoimmune disorders. Following removal of the duplicate Ye et al. (2018) reference and consequential renumbering of the reference list, Wang et al. (2022) appears as Ref. [12] in the corrected article.

The authors also indicated that the original reference could remain; however, the Editorial Office has adopted the replacement reference below to ensure appropriate citation support.

Corrected references

As a consequence of removal of the duplicated Ye et al. (2018) reference, subsequent references and their corresponding in-text citation numbers have been renumbered accordingly.

These corrections do not affect the study's data, results, tables, figures, statistical outcomes, or conclusions.
